On June 16th, grab a surfboard and get out on the water in celebration of International Surfing Day!
If you’re a surfer, you already understand the incredible experience of catching a wave and connecting with the sea.
And if you’ve never tried, there’s no better time than now!
There’s a reason that surfers are some of the strongest proponents of marine conservation, and it’s because the sport has that kind of effect on people. It completely immerses you in the sensations of the sea.
This year, while we band together to share the stoke of surfing, we also aim to raise awareness of urgent threats to our precious coastline, like new offshore oil drilling.
The theme of this year’s ISD is “Protect & Enjoy.” Head to the beach, take someone surfing for the first time, participate in a beach cleanup and make your voice heard.
