The 4th of July is widely celebrated in the United States, where hundreds of thousands of people will head to the coast to enjoy the festivities. We ask that this Sunday (July 8th) following the 4th of July, that you get out to your local beach and clean it – because in the wake of these celebrations countless amounts of trash are left behind.
TerraMar will be hosting a beach cleanup at Hemlock Cove/Gilgo Beach in Babylon, NY for anybody in the area.
But we urge everyone to get out to their local beach and send us your beach cleanup pictures, videos, and statistics (what did you find most of) so that we can measure our collective impact.
Please send any media/data collected from beach cleanups to [email protected]
And take our pledge to help stop marine pollution in your everyday lives:
Details for NY Beach Cleanup:
We will be based out of Hemlock Cove – a stretch of beach accessible by boat just East of the main Gilgo Beach parking lot.
Volunteers can meet us at either Hemlock Cove, or begin at Gilgo Beach walking East where volunteers will converge in the middle of the two beaches.
